Puerto Rico and the heavenly experience

This summer we went for a vacation at Puerto Rico.
Easily one of our best trips.

As usual, it was one of those suddenly planned trips with not much thought put into what all to cover at the spot but just fly and reach the place: take the vacation as it comes.Somehow I have come to point where I always feel too much planning kills the trip : The lesser you plan , more satisfied you return from the vacation :)

our stay was at Rio Mar beach resort at Rio Grande, and like any other good resort, it was the place to be..beachfront, music, umbrellas, drinks and great food : all in on full on masti.Beaches at PR were so clean and serene. We were there for about 4 days and for 2 consecutive days , every morning we used to go to beach and laze around for 2-3 hours..awesome time. One day we visited the old City of San Juan and its spectacular. The puerto-rican culture just gets to you.All they like to do is PARTY !
Pina-Coloadas all over the place. We picked up couple of spanish words from the locals and it was fun to talk to them in their language.Everything was nice and chillax but the best was yet to come..

We had heard enough about it to ignore it completely on our trip. This was our last day at PR, and so we had already booked 2 spots for this final adventure. However we were too tired from the whole days sightseeing, we decided to skip it and were about to go home.We called our instructor and asked him to cancel our trip but it was too late for him to fill those spots...however tired we were, we decide to go and I dont think we are ever going to repent that decision.

If you have not heard of it or been to one, pls do.
pls when you go to Puerto Rico next time...pls pls visit this place at Fajardo:BioBay.

Its one of the most fulfilling experience you are going to have in your lifetime...Heavenly.The trip goes like this.

It took us about 1.5 hours to get to this place, GPS doesn't work and you just have to follow the instructors directions. We finally reached and there were about 15 other members in our adventure. So it was a guided Kayak tour.

Two guides: one in the first Kayak, and other in the last kayak.
He gave us some instructions: arranged us in pairs, gave us life jackets and pedals and in no time we were in the water. We have done kayaking before but this was something unique. We had to follow the kayak in front of us and all go in one straight line.We started from a pretty wide water body and slowly entered a creek. The creek kept getting narrower as we paddled and a time came when the creek was only 5 ft wide !!! .We kept following the kayak in front of us and we lost them sometimes and had to struggle to get back on track , hit the trees on the side and that was really scary......wait did I miss one small detail: how could we be scared for hitting trees at the sides: water was not that deep : max 10 ft deep, Yes I did miss one detail : It was DARK, I mean pitch dark.It was freaking 10 pm at night and we were kayaking in a river/creek 5 ft wide , a creek that was covered with trees all over : forming a cave like structure....Due to the cave formation , even the moon light was hard to find !

Our only way in front was : the radium engraved at the side of each kayak !Dont get me wrong only one radium on the kayak in this entire darkness. It was horrifying ! Big trees all over and one wrong paddle would land us into the trees and you would never see the tree and its big roots !!! awesome. Amazing journey. We shouted on each other so many times whenever we miss paddled...it was fun.Vandita was scared at times but I give it to her, it was a scary scene in front of us ( or the absence of it).

The journey ended into a very big lake.Right in the middle of some lake/ocean/jungle out we were at 11 pm now...with our two instructors asking us to put our hand in the water...every time we touched the water:a million sparkling lights would jump around at the surface of water: every object that gets in the water SHINES !! it was miracle ! it was divine. It was the biobay: one of the wonders of the world formed at like 5-7 locations across the world : and this being the best of the best.

It was pure...it was a satisfying experience. Our guide then went on to explain how this whole effect comes into being and how there is science behind it..some http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.giftrees/plants/organisms/physical/chemical/moonlight/sunlight combination causing the water to glow every time any foreign object touched the surface. At one point our instructor jumped in the water and it was a scene to relish. while he was in the water: his whole body was glowing.Imagine !!!

Best thing that has ever happened to us ! BioBay.
This is the closest I have been to nature ever and would love to visit this place again. An experience that can only be satisfying and divine.

Whats next...

So here is the glimpse of what most of us have been doing these days.
- Work very hard every single hour of the day during the week.
- On weekend, everyone goes crazy with parties all around..
Dinners/games/parties/drinks/ in short a whole lot of masti.

Fortunately I am proud to say that I have been blessed(lucky) to have great friends all over my life.School- Colg- Masters- job..every phase of the life.Anyways, coming back to the topic that I have been thinking for quite some time now.

Whats next...

With gods grace, we are content with what we have as of now...what we have achieved in life / family. But whats next ?

Whats the next thing we are working so hard for ?
Frankly speaking: Happy with what I have achieved in career/life so far , yet I(we all) keep working hard towards some goal ! To that next step.Other than career growth what is it going to help me achieve.Granted it feels great to go that next career stage but still.

Another thing I have asked some of my close people : next year say our salary goes up by say 10% even 15%..so what, is this hike really going to change the lifestyle ? or drastically change/update the standard..Sincerely dont think so.

What is that next thing that we are striving for ?
